Reports to: Marina General Manager

The boating season is here, and Galveston Yacht Marina is looking for a Seasonal Dry Stack Spotter to help us out! The Seasonal Dry Stack Spotter employee’s responsibility is to assist the marine lift driver with safely and securely stacking and unstacking customer boats. This person will be working from the groud helping guide the marine travel lift driver.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assist owners and crew with berthing and un-berthing boats
2. Ensure the boats in the marina are properly stacked at all times
3. Ensure no hazard is caused by mooring lines, electrical cables, boat overhangs, or other materials
4. Understand and adhere to OSHA and environmental regulations regarding boat blocking
5. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:n

• High school diploma or GED required
• Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
• A good general knowledge of boats, boat-handling, knots and splices, etc. Preferably with appropriate certificate of competency.
• Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
• Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
• Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
• Strong work ethic and personal commitment
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Carry up to 50 lbs
• Work around water safely
• Work in tight spaces
• Work at heights of up to 30 feet
• Stand, walk, sit, push, pull, climb, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, grasp
