Report to: Marina Maintenance Manager or Service Manager

The Maintenance Helper works with the maintenance team members, and will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the marina as well as general maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in daily operations of the Marina as needed by the Maintenance or Service Manager
2. Inspect equipment and marina grounds
3. Attend to and fix basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing needs
4. Assist with landscaping and groundskeeping
5. Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records. Responsible for detailed documentation of maintenance and repair work
6. Work proactively to prevent hazardous situations
7. Ensure adherence to departmental and / or operations policies, procedures, and practices
8. Perform boat dock repairs to steel and wooden structures
9. Perform boat lift repairs and installation
10. Occasional need to work overnight to monitor cables when weather requires
11. Perform such duties as assigned by the Marina Maintenance Manager

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or GED required
2. Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
3. 1+ years of related experience
4. Knowledge of and experience repairing plumbing and electrical
5. Experience with basic carpentry and tools
6. Able to lift heavy equipment and work on and around waters
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
8. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
9. Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
10. Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
