Reports to: Marina General Manager

Boating season is upon us, and Galveston Yacht Marina is looking for seasonal hands to help with getting boats out of storage and prepared to go into the water. The Seasonal Dry Stack Spotter's responsibility is to safely and securely assit the lift drivers with stacking and unstacking customer boats. Must be at least 18 years old.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assist owners and driver crew with berthing and un-berthing boats
2. Ensure the boats in the marina are properly stacked at all times
3. Ensure no hazard is caused by mooring lines, electrical cables, boat overhangs, or other materials
4. Understand and adhere to OSHA and environmental regulations regarding boat blocking
5. May be required from time to time to assist with other duties within reasonable capabilities as the General Manager may request
6. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
• A good general knowledge of boats or marina experience is a plus.
• Experience in boat hoist, dry stack, and similar operations is a plus.
• Experience in driving a forklift is a plus
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings (there are various schedules available)
• Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all marina operations to be able to assist at all times
• Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
• Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
• Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
• Strong work ethic and personal commitment
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
